Ya know how dogs kind of look like their owners, like in the beginning of Disney's 101 Dalmatians? Yeah, I think that people's dogs also look like the interior design style they have in their homes. Now, there are many different dog breeds and many different design styles, so this is my take on what dog I think looks like which design style.
I'll start with a Dalmatian. They are definitely what's known as Maximalist. They are super fun, have lots of spots in no specific pattern, and can come in an array of colors.
Am I right???
"What about Greyhounds?" You may be asking...I know. They are definitely contemporary design. Slim, simple, and pretty basic, but beautiful.
Next is Mid-Century Modern. And you may be thinking, what the h*ll could represent that? A lab? Nope...the beloved beagle. They match the colors, they are an all American dog, and they're loud, just like mid-century modern interiors.
Now I'll focus on what I see everyday at SUNY Fredonia, brutalism. Sharp edges, concrete, pretty bland and blegh, but beautiful just the same. That's going to be the Bull Terrior, with their sharp edges, elongated muzzle, and they are kind of blegh to look at.
Now if you love cottages, and Cottage Core design, with fireplaces, picket fences, gardens, a good view of the seasons and some hot coco, that's going to be the Corgi.
And you may be thinking of German Shepherds. K9 Officers, guard dogs, but so lovable and soft. They are gonna represent Industrial, with open floor plans, high ceilings and windows, and lots of space.
Can't you see that good boy laying right next to the couch?
Now, these are my personal opinions, but I think I'm pretty spot on. What do you think? Do you think dogs look like their owners, like their homes, or am I really off base?
Anyways, thanks for taking a minute to read! -trav
